this is a Classic 650 VStar
Body work was done by
Brian Kim on the tank - the front fender was turned around front to back and
the back part cropped off
the idea sketch came from the
owner - he wanted to symbolize the
change btw good and evil - the entire piece culminating with a battle btw good
and evil on the rear fender by depicting a battle btw and angel and a demon
first I shot a flat
black base coat
-
then a true flame and clouds background in white -
then over a true flame pattern
a gradient of Deep Candy Apple Red and Candy bright red -
- I layered and repeated this process 4 times - each time going to a lighter and
lighter red candy
then the whole thing is overshot with 15 coats of a 3 part
Polyurethane clear coat
